Weekend Service Trip in Michigan

Finished Gaga Pit

What a great weekend!!!

I had the opportunity to spend the weekend with ten current and former Grey Ghosts up in northern Michigan. Along with Tim and Sherri Heth, we traveled to the Grand Traverse Reservation to help with the construction of a Gaga Pit right
outside of the Strong Heart Rec Center in Peshawbestown.

This weekend was an offshoot of the service trip taken each summer. For the past three years, a group of IVC students have spent 8-10 days working on projects on the reservation.  In addition, the group has the opportunity to learn about a new culture.

The service trip next in 2015 will take place in June.  It is open to any student who is at least a sophomore. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn, grow, and build friendships.  For more   information about the trip, parents or students should just contact me at the school.
